We provide two cover options Standard and Premier

Engine
The rocker assembly, including hydraulic followers, inlet and exhaust valves [not burnt valves], springs and guides, cylinder head [not cracks and de-coking], cylinder head gasket [except skim], push rods, camshaft and followers, timing gears and chains [excluding tensioner], oil pump, pistons and rings, cylinder bores, con rods, gudgeon pins and bearings, crankshaft and bearings, inlet manifold, flywheel and ring gear. Timing belts are covered as long as they have been changed in line with the manufacturers schedules. You will need to be able to provide proof of this.

Turbo charger [factory fitted]
The turbo charger unit is covered only if agreed and if the extra premium has been paid [see proposal form].

Fuel system [diesel and petrol]
Tto a maximum of £100 per claim including VAT Carburettor and mechanical or electrical fuel pump and injection pump.

Manual gearbox
Internal gears, synchromesh hubs, selectors, shafts, bearings and bushes, transfer gears.

Automatic gearbox
Internal shafts, gears, clutches, brake bands, valve block, governor, oil pump, bearings and bushes, servo, drive plate and transfer gears.

Rear-wheel drive
Half shafts, rear-wheel external drive shafts, including constant velocity joints, universal joints and couplings [not gaiters] and wheel bearings [drive axle only].

Differential
Internal crown wheel and pinion, gears, shafts, bearings and bushes, thrust washers and spacers.

Continuously variable transmission CTX
Internal clutches, planetary gears, reduction gears, shafts, variable pulleys, thrust link drives, internal seals, bushes and bearings.

Torque converter
Failure of any internal mechanical parts.

Propshaft
Universal joints and couplings.

Suspension
Coil springs.

Front wheel drive
Wheel bearings [drive axle only].

Clutch
Centre plate, pressure plate, release bearing, oil contamination [centre plate only] and master and slave cylinders. No labour costs included.

Engine cooling system
Viscous fan coupling, thermostat, thermostat and housing. water pump

Casings
If any of the covered parts fail and this damages the casings, they will also be covered.

Steering [incl. power assisted steering]
Steering rack and pinion [not gaiters], steering box, idler box, power steering rack and pump.

Brakes
To a maximum of £100 per claim including VAT.
Brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, restrictor valve and brake caliper seals.

Electrical system
To a maximum of £100 per claim including VA.T
Starter motor and solenoid, including pre-engagement mechanism and bendix drive and alternator, diode pack, coil, voltage regulator, indicator relay and front windscreen wiper, and washer motors.

Working materials
Oils, oil filter and anti-freeze are covered only if it is essential to replace them because of the failure of a part which is covered under this policy.

Automatic gearbox
Torque converter Failure of any internal mechanical parts.

Front-wheel drive
Drive shafts, including constant velocity joints, universal joints and couplings [not gaiters].

Continuously variable transmission CTX
Differential Internal crown wheel and pinion, gears, shafts, bearings and bushes, thrust washers and spacers.

Front-wheel drive
Drive shafts, including constant velocity joints, universal joints and couplings [not gaiters].

Fuel system [diesel and petrol]
Carburettors, automatic choke, lift pump, mechanical or electrical fuel pumps and tank sender unit. Fuel injection system Throttle body, airflow meter, idle control valve, cold start valve, warm up regulator, overrun cut off valve, throttle potentiometer, fuel accumulator, pressure regulator, map sensor [except injectors and heater plugs].

Engine cooling system
Radiator, oil cooler, heater matrix.

Air conditioning [factory fitted]
The air conditioning compressor unit is covered if you have paid the extra premium. [See proposal form.]

Front and rear suspension
Hydrolastic displacers and hydropneumatic spheres, coil springs, upper and lower wishbones and ball and swivel joints.

Brakes
Brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, restrictor valve, brake calliper seals and servo Anti locking brake system [ABS) [factory fitted) Providing the additional premium has been paid the ABS modulator and sensors will be covered. [See proposal form].

Electrical system
Starter motor and solenoid, including preengagement mechanism and bendix drive, alternator/diode pack, coil voltage regulator, window and sun roof motors, electric window switches, sunroof switch, centralised locking, heater fan motor, indicator flasher relay, distributor, front and rear windscreen wiper and washer motors, electronic ignition amplifier, thermostatically-controlled radiator fan motor, horn and multi-function stalk switch. Engine management [ECU] Engine electronic control unit.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

Car Hire
If your vehicle is off the road for more than 24 hours due to mechanical breakdown of any component covered under the Mechanical Breakdown section of this policy, car hire up to a total of £30 (including VAT) per day for a maximum of 7 days, will be included.

To qualify for the car hire benefityou must advise the Company within 24 hours following breakdown.

EXCLUDING
The first 24 hours following breakdown. Vehicle Hire in excess of the 7 day allowance above. Charges incurred for fuel, damage or insurance.

Note: The Insurers cannot be held responsible should hire be refused for any reason.

Authority to hire must first be obtained from MB&G Administration Office.

(Excluding: Fuel lines, Injectors, glow plugs, high pressure pipes, injection timing adjustments, calibration, bench testing and emission test failures).

IMPORTANT
It is essential that an authority number is obtained from MB&G Claims Department before any repairs commence.

Overnight Accommodation

If the Insured Vehicle cannot be driven due to a breakdown caused as a direct result of a failure of a part covered under Mechanical Breakdown section of this policy and you are more than 25 miles from your intended destination we will pay for one nights bed and breakfast in a hotel for you and up to 3 passengers; subject to a Policy limit of £50 per person with a total amount payable of £200. PLEASE NOTE: Authority must be obtained from MB&G Administration Office.

Continental Use - This policy is extended to cover the Vehicle whilst in any country of the EEC and EFTA for a period of not more than 60 days in any 12 month period., with the limit of liability restricted to the equivalent United Kingdom rate for labour charges and parts at prices applicable at the date of the claim.

Please note: MB&G Assist cover does not extend beyond the United Kingdom.

Important: Car hire, hotel accommodation expenses will constitute part of the total claim and cost will be limited to the maximum indemnity as stated on the proposal form. A bona fide receipt will be required
